Ethics in Publishing Statement
JPMedAI is committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity in research and publication. Our ethics policies are based on the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Core Practices, the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) recommendations, and the Declaration of Helsinki for medical research involving human participants.
1. Research Ethics
-
Human Subjects: Studies must have prior approval from a recognised ethics committee or institutional review board (IRB). A statement identifying the approving body and the approval number must be included in the manuscript.
-
Informed Consent: Written informed consent must be obtained from all participants (or their legal guardians) and documented in the manuscript. Identifying details should not be published without explicit permission.
-
Animal Studies: Research involving animals must comply with institutional, national, or international guidelines. Authors must include details of animal welfare considerations and ethical approval.
2. Publication Ethics
-
Originality: Submissions must be the author’s own work, not previously published, and not under consideration elsewhere.
-
Plagiarism: All manuscripts are checked with plagiarism detection software. Overlap beyond acceptable thresholds will lead to rejection.
-
Data Integrity: Fabrication, falsification, or selective reporting of data is prohibited. Authors must retain raw data and make it available upon request.
-
Conflicts of Interest: All financial, personal, or institutional relationships that could influence the work must be disclosed.
3. Misconduct Handling
Allegations of misconduct are investigated following COPE procedures. Where misconduct is confirmed, JPMedAI will issue retractions, corrections, or expressions of concern as appropriate.
4. Authorship
All authors must meet the ICMJE criteria for authorship and approve the final manuscript before submission. Gift, ghost, or honorary authorship is not permitted.
5. Transparency & Open Science
We encourage authors to share data, code, and materials to promote reproducibility and transparency.
